Venue:Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium Fatorda
It was a sunny morning, on the 27th of March 2011 when the athletes from all the respective institutions arrived at SAG Grounds, J.N. Stadium Fatorda, Margaon. Institutions like Keshav Seva, Disha, Gujrati Samaj, SFAL, Lokvishwas, St.Xaviers Academy, Peace Haven, Daddy’s Home, Vidya Vikas and Ashadeep from the North and South of Goa participated.
The athlete’s had their breakfast and the program started at around 09:30 a.m. and they proceeded to the Stadium for the inauguration ceremony followed by 8 institutions consisting of 220 Special Athletes, 50 Deafalympics, 18 PCI Athletes and 50 Officials along with the resource persons.
These games were organized by the Special Olympics Goa, as they have been nominated the Nodal Agency to conduct these games for all disabilities under the leadership of Mr. Victor Vaz, National Sports Director and Mr. Luis Fernandes, State Sports Director for Special Olympics. The athletes assembled for the March past, torch run, athlete’s oath.
Mr. Victor Vaz, Area Director welcomed the chief Guest with vote of thanks.
